It never ceases to surprise me how the crowds are drawn when a photo shoot team turns up with in a public location. At one point people were videoing and taking pictures of myself and the crew!
Many thanks for Moritz and the team from yesterday. I've processed only a few of the inside ones so here's 5 of Agata to keep you going!
The shoot involved shots within the nearby Hilton hotel and area of Tower Bridge itself.

Sheridan Smith as guest performer
On Sunday the excellent corporate band Bloomfield Avenue played at The Roadhouse, Covent Garden, together with guest singer Sheridan Smith (Gavin and Stacey, Three Pints of lager ..., Legally Blonde in the West End, lead role).
It was another of those occasions that was as sheer pleasure to be a part of. The atmosphere was excellent and the performances were fantastic!
In the photos below, aside from the band, Sheridan Smith, someone by the name of Alan Harbord (!) and Nicky Clarke (HM The Queen's hair stylist).

More From Mayfair!
Yesterday saw me carry out another shoot in Mayfair. Starting with the Red Rooms Casino and then venturing out to the statues and ornamental architecture that resides in the middle of Hyde Park Corner.
After covering her press launch a few weeks ago (see earlier blog), Sarah Louise Ings, songwriter and musician (www.sarahlouiseings.com) was delighted with the images and booked me again!

Radio Presenter/ Voiceover Artist - Emma Adams
Emma came to me wanting some shots for her brand new website. 2 hours in the studio (including make up) did the trick.
On the subject of make up artists, as my regular has recently moved to Gloucestershire, I've been on the look out for new talent to team up with and I'm very glad to say for this shoot I was really impressed with Linda Francis and I'm sure this will be the first of many shoots working together.

Actor Headshots
Thanks again to the lovely Philippa Watt who, instructed by her agent to get more headshots for her new direction in acting, returned to me for another 1 hour studio shoot.
Congratulations Philippa for your recent part in East Enders - who knows where you will go from here!
JUST IN! A few words from Philippa.
"Not really one for enjoying photo shoots, when Alan is behind the camera, I know I'm in good hands. From start to finish he provides a relaxed, creative enviroment which in turn produces excellent pictures.
I tell him what I want, and he explores my vision and goes the extra mile to ensure I leave with the photographs I wanted! .. I would recommend him to everyone, even those who are camera shy!

Mayfair launch of New Music Artist
Staged at the glamorous Mayfair Red Rooms, this lavish event saw the official launch of classically trained musician Sarah Louise Ings.
When Sarah came on all available space vanished in an instant, so not wanting to get shots filled with the back of peoples heads, I managed to climb over to a grand piano where I sat for the performance. Situated right by the front I was able to get many fantastic shots that really encompassed the spirit of the show.
Taking Sarah aside later on, I grabbed some one to one shots of her.
The final image here with Sarah and her manager and promotor, even has Me in the mirror!

London Fashion Week Shows and Parties
Well what a blast London Fashion Week was! It's all over now until February of course but I'm left with some interesting images, some new contacts and of course some more published work. I was representing Faceon Magazine and Model Advice Magazine, but have also submitted images and editorial to some of the larger publications.
These images are a few from the official opening and closing parties and showcases.
Below are images of The Catwalk Professor giving the models final training before the evening's catwalk showcase. It was fascinating watching such a professional in action.
Below them are images of models being made up and styled, then one of the models displaying Voller corsets.
Electric Cellist, Lizzie May dazzled everyone with a audio visual treat.
The show itself is of the Spring Summer collection from Mint Siren Lingerie.

Elizabeth Emanuel Comeback Show
Yet again big thanks go to the excellent Richard Austen Rees Fashion and PR Management for organising such a fantastic event.
It was a pleasure to both meet and to photograph Elizabeth as well as many fashion industry insiders.
Thanks too to journalist Jasmine Martin, just in from the U.S. and thrust into London Fashion week and who I have had the privilege to work with over the week.
Jasmine's short review as follows:
Having not shown a line in almost 20 years, Elizabeth Emanuel made her grand comeback in the middle of London Fashion Week with a collection that reestablished her aesthetic of progressive elegance and timeless beauty.
Inspired by the recent auctioning of Princess Diana’s iconic black dress, designed by Elizabeth, the collection was centred around the Little Black Dress; from lace to silk crepe and netting, the line featured a blending of fabrics and textures, with strategic gathering, straight cuts and intricate detailing.
Fitted dresses with knee-length hemlines were made modern with lace cutouts at the waist and scoop and asymmetrical necklines accented by gathering and jewelled pendants. More trendy pieces included a high waist skirt made wholly out of loop fringes, paired with a low cut, fitted blazer adorned with a large, crystal-and-sequin brooch on the left. Taupe coloured silk was put behind a layer of black lace for high-waist skirts and dresses, and a cropped, shaggy furred gilet even made an appearance over an ankle length dress.
Sweetheart bodices paired with pencil fitted bottoms were given a fuller figure with knee-length trains attached at the waist. Lace was used to create tiered dresses, skirts and classy tops. Tall, feathered headpieces gave these styles a flapper feel, and choker necklaces, both sequinned and made of loops, were great accessories as well. Fitted, mid length dresses with plummeting necklines were alluring and sophisticated.
And even towards the end, the show did not lose momentum. Dazzling, black beaded mesh was draped and gathered over taupe silk to create stunning floor-length gowns. Sweetheart necklines, one shoulder, and high splits made them sexy yet elegant.
Escorted down the catwalk by Elizabeth Minnett in a stunning ball gown from the collection, Elizabeth Emanuel was received with a standing ovation. It was truly a comeback collection, with the Little Black Dresses that will define the season.

Overseas Photo Shoot
Well it’s always exciting to receive a booking for an overseas shoot, especially one in a doubly glamorous location! Why doubly glamorous? Because not only is it Cyprus, but it’s in an exclusive 5 star resort.
Set in the ancient Aphrodite Hills, the luxury estate includes several villages and much stunning coastline – a place I am very much looking forward to photographing in.
The happy couple have not only asked me to provide full wedding day coverage, but also an engagement shoot 2 days before and a more relaxed post wedding day shoot (aka trash the dress) on one of the days following the wedding day.
Roll on next July!

Photography at London Fashion Week, casting party at Amika, Kensington
Thanks go to Richard Austin Rees PR & Fashion Management for my second outing, this time providing photographic coverage and model portfolio photography at the exclusive AMIKA club in Kensington, London. The event was predominantly the casting for 3 Runway shows during LONDON FASHION WEEK in the form of an industry party covered by WORLD FASHION NETWORK TV. Running from 8pm till 8am it was also an opportunity for models, stylists, make up artists and photographers to show off their talent and network with each other.
I'm looking forward to the LFW shows which include the much anticipated Elizabeth Emanuel comeback show on Wed 22nd.

Maria Buccellati Beach Couture Fashion Show Yacht Party
It's not often that I am asked to photograph on a yacht, let alone a posh one with a royal pedigree. The Yacht London, now permanently moored off Victoria Embankment, London was last week host to a fashion party showcasing the latest designer beach couture from Maria Buccellati.
What a tremendous event it was with a fantastic atmosphere and all round opportunity for some great fashion photography, both editorial and commercial. I enjoyed the freedom of creativity in being able to choose the location on the yacht, choose the model/s and create!
It was great to have Lizzie May perform there too and brilliant to shoot her afterwards in the VIP lounge.
